On 6 July, a regional seminar for farmers from Navoi Region was held in the city of Navoi. As previously reported, the event was organized within the framework of the Sustainable Livestock Development Financing Project, which is being successfully implemented with the support of the Agency for the Development of Livestock and Pasture Economy and the French Development Agency (AFD).
The seminar aimed to raise local farmers’ awareness of available financing opportunities, provide practical guidance on accessing concessional loans and grant funding, and strengthen their capacity to independently develop financial plans for promising projects and prepare high-quality funding applications.
During the event, representatives of the Project Implementation Group, the Farmers’ Council, partner banks, and industry associations engaged directly with farmers from Navoi Region, providing practical recommendations on preparing project applications that meet the programme’s requirements. Participants also examined the real-life experience of farmers who had previously received financing under the project and successfully expanded their farms, paying particular attention to the challenges they encountered during project implementation and the ways these challenges were addressed. Specialists from partner banks also explained, through practical examples, the most common mistakes made when applying for loans and grants.
The practical session of the seminar was conducted in the form of small group work. Farmers independently developed preliminary concepts for their projects and prepared the necessary financial calculations. The project proposals developed by the working groups were reviewed and evaluated on site by banking specialists. Based on this assessment, participants received practical recommendations on further improving their projects and preparing successful applications for financing.
