About the Grant Programme
Under the “Financing Sustainable Livestock Development” Project, implemented with the participation of the French Development Agency (AFD), grant funding is provided with financial support from the European Union (EU).

Grant Funding Mechanism and Grant Amount
Main сondition: Business entities that have obtained a loan of up to 100,000 euros (equivalent in UZS) under the project are eligible to receive a grant of up to 40% of the loan amount after the project has been commissioned.
For Information: Loans under the project are provided for a period of up to 10 years, including a 3-year grace period.
This financing mechanism protects livestock entrepreneurs participating in the project from foreign exchange risks and enables them to plan their business activities more sustainably.
Purpose of the use of grant funds: This project is primarily intended to finance sub-projects that do not have a negative impact on the climate.
That is, grant funds are intended to support projects related to milk processing, meat processing, production of animal feed, development of fisheries (including intensive fish farming projects), modern reconstruction, expansion or construction of livestock barns and poultry houses (using wooden structures, including wall cladding or timber frames), establishment of egg production poultry farms, development of beekeeping activities, installation of solar panels at livestock farms, introduction of drip irrigation technologies on livestock grazing lands, purchase of agricultural machinery and additional equipment for animal feed production, replacement of outdated motorized agricultural machinery used by livestock farms (if the machinery was manufactured more than 15 years ago) with new equipment, as well as other livestock-related projects that do not have a negative impact on the climate.
Under the project, the following categories of business entities that have received a loan are eligible to receive a grant:
- Dehkan farms
- Household plots
- Individual entrepreneurs
- Family enterprises
- Farmer enterprises
- Limited Liability Companies (LLCs)
- Agricultural cooperatives
Important requirement: To be eligible for grant funding, Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) that have received a loan under the project are required to amend their founding documents. Specifically, the founding documents must indicate that at least 50% of the company’s ownership is held by one of the following entities engaged in livestock activities: a dehkan farm, a household plot, an individual entrepreneur, or a family enterprise.
Additional requirements: As part of the Government of Uzbekistan’s policy to support women and young entrepreneurs by expanding their access to concessional financing, the standard grant amount under the project is up to 30% of the loan received. However, if the project applicant is a woman or a man under the age of 24, an additional 10% grant is provided. In such cases, the total grant amount may reach up to 40% of the loan received.
Grant funding will not be available if:
- The loan was used to purchase ruminant livestock (large or small livestock) under the project;
- The borrower has overdue loan repayments;
- The loan was not used for its intended purpose;
- The loan was used entirely as working capital for project implementation;
- Depending on the specific characteristics of the grant project, the Project Implementation Group may also require additional supporting documents.
