On 7 July 2026, a regional seminar was held in Jizzakh as part of the “Financing Sustainable Livestock Development” project, implemented with the support of The Agency for the Development of Livestock and Pasture Economyand the French Development Agency (AFD).
The event brought together farmers, representatives of the Farmers’ Council, partner banks, industry associations, and members of the Project Implementation Group.
The main objective of the seminar was to raise farmers’ awareness of available financing opportunities, strengthen their practical skills in preparing applications for concessional loans and grants, and enhance cooperation with partner banks and industry associations.
The seminar consisted of several sessions. During the first session, representatives of partner banks and the Project Implementation Group explained the mechanisms for accessing financing, borrower eligibility requirements, and the most common mistakes made when submitting applications. During the second session, project beneficiaries—farmers who had already received support under the programme—shared their practical experience, the challenges they encountered, and the results they achieved.
Following a short break, the third session focused on practical exercises. Participants developed project concepts, learned how to structure project applications, and gained practical skills in preparing preliminary financial calculations. During the fourth session, the working groups presented their project proposals. Representatives of the partner banks conducted on-site expert evaluations and provided recommendations for further improvement.
For participants, the seminar proved particularly valuable by providing clear guidance on aligning their projects with bank requirements, reviewing common application mistakes through real-life examples and ways to avoid them, as well as offering each farmer individual expert advice and recommendations for further refining their projects.
