On April 9, a delegation of the French Senate headed by Valerie Boyer visited Uzbekistan. As part of the visit, the delegation toured the “QONIRATBAY MEXRI” farming enterprise, which specializes in the production of milk and dairy products.
The “QONIRATBAY MEXRI” farm is located in the Kerder citizens’ assembly (mahalla) of Nukus district, Republic of Karakalpakstan, and is currently considered one of the leading agricultural enterprises in the region. The farm has introduced modern livestock technologies and established the production of high-quality milk and dairy products.
The project was financed under the “Financing Sustainable Development of the Livestock Sector” program with the participation of the French Development Agency, while the loan funds were provided by the regional office of JSC “Xalq Banki” of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
As a result of the project implementation, the following key outcomes were achieved:
Currently, the farm operates on an area of 0.4 hectares. In the future, it plans to expand dairy production by an additional 0.8 hectares in order to increase output volumes. The farm is also considering the use of concessional loans from the French Development Agency and grant funding from the European Union.
During the visit, the French Senate delegation was presented with the practical results of the project, including production modernization, logistics development, and measures aimed at improving product quality.
The visit contributed to further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and France in the agricultural sector and demonstrated the effectiveness of projects implemented with the participation of international financial institutions.
Today, the “QONIRATBAY MEXRI” farm stands as a clear example of sustainable agricultural development driven by investment, modern technologies, and international cooperation.
